Prasanta sutradhar was born in Coochbehar, West Bengal, on 3rd September,a theatre professional, Indian Actor & Director, started his journey with the guidance of the renowned mime artist, late Sankar Datta Gupta. He moved to Kolkata from Coochbehar in 2013 to study theatre and performing arts. He was trained under Sangeet Natak Academy Award winner Prabir Guha and travelled the globe with his group, Alternative Living Theatre as an actor and background music designer.

Prasanta was graduated in linguistics, majoring in Sanskrit from North Bengal University and post graduated in Drama Studies from Rabindra Bharati University. His desire to learn further took him to National School of Drama (STTC) for a residential training in theatre and performing arts. In his capacity as an actor and a background music designer, Prasanta has worked with acclaimed directors and productions including Tripuri Sharma, Manish Mitra, Raghuvir Yadav, Chandan Sen, Subhadip Guha, Avanti Chakraborty, Afsar Hussain, Kaustav Dutta Gupta and Sanmitra Bhowmik. Returning to his hometown, Prasanta established his own theatre group 'Theatre Lab Coochbehar' in 2016. His productions include XYZ, Gombhir Pala, Saaf Safai Gaanwala, The Statue (a children's play) Nakshi katha(2). Prasanta even works as guest director, production designer and music director in several theatre groups. Those productions include Nakshi katha(1), Benglish konyar Rupkotha, Article 25, Mesh Manush Kahon, Notebook & Tar nari o nagini. He travels to various villages in all over India performing XYZ and gathers interested childrens to form a group to make social content productions. Notable- Jongol kotha, a tale of Jungle. In the year 2020, a performance directed by Prasanta was selected in an intetnational theatre festival, 'Red Apple International Theatre Festival'. Prasanta organises theatre workshop for all interested youth in all over India. Along with theatre Prasanta did his debut in bengali feature film, 'Jogakhichuri' (2021). His film yet to release are Guruji(Surinder Films), Torulatar Bhoot( Green motion picture), The Redemption (Missisipi production). At present he is regularly starring for a Bengali TV series whose name 'Mon Mane Na'
